Grandma Pipho is Here!

Grandma Pipho has been in Seattle since last Tuesday and is enjoying her time hanging out with Sullivan. Sullivan has had a good time hanging out with Grandma Pipho and has given her lots of smiles, giggles and snuggles, in addition to sleeping a lot during the day as well. Grandma Pipho is doing her fair share of spoiling Sully while she is here, and we have gone on a couple shopping trips to ensure that Sullivan will be well-dressed once he gets into the 6 to 12 months clothing range, and that he will know his nursery rhymes with a Mother Goose nursery rhyme book and a couple of CDs. I can't wait to get all of those rhymes stuck in my head..."Hey diddle diddle, the Cat and the Fiddle..."

Please Stand By; We Are Experiencing Technical Difficulties

I've heard from more than one person that they aren't able to watch Sullivan do his magic with his bouncy chair band in the previous post. I must not be as technically savvy as I thought. Oh, well -- I'll see if I can troubleshoot the situation and get things working so you can watch the little video, and then also any others we may in the future! The bugger is that the video works for me everytime I try it from our blog, but maybe that's because I'm the editor or something. Anyways, I'll try to figure out what the problem may be and get things working.

Just Me and My Band

This is among our first attempts at "Sullivan Cinematography" via our mobile phones. Although a bit grainy and probably hard to see, I thought I would post it anyways; just click on the "play" icon to get things moving.

We got Sullivan a bouncy seat a week or so ago, and he had a great time jammin' with his bouncy seat band today, which includes a guitar-playing dog, a drum-playing bear and a trumpet-playing cat. Sullivan himself is proving to be a great foot-playing keyboardist!

Oh, and that's Jinxie doing a "drive by" on the left, just in case you are wondering what that hairy looking gray blur is coming into the frame.

Staci in Seattle

Staci left today from her trek to the great Pacific Northwest to visit Sullivan and take another look at Seattle since her last visit six years ago. Due to her allergy to cats and the severe lack of space at our house, she lucked out and timed her trip to coincide with her good friend Michelle's business trip out to Seattle, scoring a free hotel stay at a the Inn at the Market in a great location of Seattle.

Stace got here on Sunday and watched the last half of the Super Bowl with us at the Hennessey's Super Bowl party, and then Staci, Sullivan and I started Monday with breakfast at Lowell's in Pike Place Market, did some shopping in Seattle, then made the trek over to Kirkland and had lunch with Gabe, then did some shopping in Bellevue and ended the day with dinner at the Crab Pot with Michelle, her business colleague, Gabe, Staci, Sullivan and me. At the Crab Pot also was where Staci's trip took a turn for the worse when she realized she no longer had her wallet. Talk about a way to turn a perfectly good trip into a crappy experience!

After extensive searching, calling of Pike Place Market security and then more searching, Staci's wallet never did show up, resulting in much angst and a rushed overnight delivery of her passport so she could fly back home today. That said, though, we did manage to have a pretty good time yesterday and went to see "BODIES...The Exhibition," which was actually very cool. It is an exhibit of real cadavers that have been dissected to show all of the body's systems -- the muscle structure, vascular systems, nervous systems, digestive systems, reproductive systems -- everything to do with the body. It was very educational and very interesting, and gave me a new respect for how complex our bodies are! It's amazing more things don't go wrong with us given how complex our systems are.

Tuesday was also another full day for Sullivan; on both Monday and Tuesday, Sully and I left the house around 10 AM and didn't return until 8 PM. Sullivan was the best baby ever both days, and the couple of meltdowns he did have were because he was hungry, and that was easy for me to solve, thanks to the wonderful mother room's at Nordstrom that have very comfortable couches and chairs available in a private room for nursing moms.

And, to cap off the week, Sullivan gets to have his two-month check-up tomorrow on his two-month birthday, and this is the one where he gets his first round of shots. Not a very fun way to spend his two-month birthday, poor guy, but necessary, nonetheless. And then on Friday we are going to meet Gabe for lunch to help celebrate his 29th birthday! WOO HOO!
