So, today my doctor decided that she would see me today. Gabe and I showed up to my appointment 30 minutes early, and we were shooed away from the check-in desk because there was an elderly woman sitting in a wheelchair at the front desk with what appeared to be a broken leg and a neck brace on, and – in addition to being very curious about what a 70-odd year-old woman with a broken leg and neck brace was doing at the OB-GYN – I was also a smidge annoyed that I got shooed away for a SECOND time from checking-in because there was only one reception-type person in the whole place. This happened last time, and I was not in the mood for a rerun.
However, everything worked out – I got to go see my doctor, found out that I don’t have the ‘betes (that’s short for gestational diabetes, in case you were wondering), my blood pressure is fine, and Junior’s heartbeat is good and strong. I did let them know that I was concerned that Junior didn’t seem to move around much, so I get to go have one more ultrasound to ensure that everything is A-OK. I’m pretty sure that everything will turn out OK, but will be nice to have that confirmed and to get to see him one last time before he enters the world!
Oh, and the 70-odd year-old lady in the wheelchair with what seemed to be like medical needs that had nothing to do with being at an OB-GYN? The transportation service that dropped her off managed to take her to the wrong doctor’s office. So, she remained parked in the lobby until the transportation service could come back and retrieve her.
